Frequently Asked Questions:

Do you prescribe medications?

As a licensed professional counselor Dr. Murphy is unable to prescribe medications. As a Doctor of Behavioral Health she has extensive training collaborating and coordinating care with medical providers and is happy to work closely with your prescriber regarding prescription medication concerns.

Can I make an appointment for someone else?

In order to support self-efficacy and maintain confidentiality, all patients are required to outreach and initiate services for themselves; the only exceptions are minor patients (those under the age of 18) or dependent adults (those who have a legally appointed guardian). It's common to want to support the people we love by assisting in scheduling and please note that providers at Healthy Synergy, LLC will not respond to communication made by a person who is attempting to set up services for someone else.

Do you accept insurance?

Dr. Murphy and Jennifer Hicks currently accept Aetna and Blue Cross Blue Shield insurance, check or debit/credit card for payment (cash-pay). Jessica Fletcher, Kayla Messinger, Annia Salas, & Ashley Lawrence accept cash-pay only. All providers are happy to provide a Super Bill with necessary diagnostic codes for submission to your insurance company for reimbursement if you are covered by a plan that your specific provider does not accept. Healthy Synergy, LLC also accepts Health Savings Accounts (HSA) for services.

Under Section 2799B-6 of the Public Health Service Act, health care providers and health care facilities are required to inform individuals who are not enrolled in an insurance plan or a Federal health care program or who not seeking to file a claim with their plan or coverage (i.e., paying cash-pay for an out-of-network provider), a Good Faith Estimate of expected charges, both orally and in writing or upon request or at the time of scheduling health care services.

Do you offer reduced rates?

Healthy Synergy, LLC is proud to be an approved intern site for Arizona State University and Northern Arizona University. We offer significantly reduced rates to work with a clinical intern and interns receive ongoing didactic and clinical training. This is a wonderful opportunity to receive exceptional quality in care at accessible costs. The intake with a clinical intern is $70 and all subsequent sessions (individual, family) are $50. These services are offered as cash-pay only. Please use the contact form below if you are interested in these services. There are a limited number of spots available!

What do I need to bring for personal training?

All potential training clients are required to bring proof of medical clearance from their general practitioner stating they are healthy enough to begin physical activity to the initial fitness assessment. For training sessions please bring a towel and water. All equipment will be provided.

What happens if I cancel an appointment?

It's understandable that life happens and sometimes appointments need to be rescheduled. 24 hours notice is required to cancel or reschedule an appointment. Less than 24 hours notice will result in a charge of $50 ($15 if working with an intern).
