"Only when we are brave enough to explore the darkness will we discover the infinite power of our light". -Brene' Brown

I view therapy as a collaborative relationship from day one. I want to create an environment in which you feel safe to share your vulnerabilities free of judgment and express yourself authentically. Through the therapeutic process, we will navigate the roadmap which brought you to therapy and create a plan to help build strengths and support systems that lead to the balanced life you seek. I take a holistic approach and understand that we, as humans, are complex, and in order to fully help an individual, we need to explore all parts of their being. Over the last few years, I have taken an interest in exploring the connection between mental and physical health and learning therapeutic techniques that help address one’s overall well-being. Some approaches include intuitive eating, body image and self-esteem work, exploring positive movement, and addressing the many issues surrounding diet culture today.

I have worked extensively in the behavioral health field for over ten years and have a passion for serving this community. I have worked with a range of populations varying from adults with serious mental illness to general mental health counseling with adults, children, couples, and families. I have experience treating issues related to trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, addiction, as well as a wide variety of other mental health issues. I want to continue working with diverse populations to better support our marginalized groups to ensure culturally competent care for BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ individuals. Outside of direct care I have worked in multiple administrative areas of mental health and am well versed in the complexities of the Arizona behavioral health system.

I am a Licensed Associate Counselor (LAC-22023) with the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners. I received my Master’s of Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Walden University in 2022 and received my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Arizona State University in 2012. I am working towards my independent licensure under the supervision of Dr. Sophia Murphy, DBH, LPC, CPT, SXI. My therapeutic practice incorporates a few different evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy and I look forward to incorporating Psychodynamic Theory and EMDR in the future.
